How to be Healed from Sickness using the Power of Prayer

The King of the Universe, wants you well. 

God's word says he wants us well.  It is God's will that we are healed.  He has given us instructions in his owners manual, the "Bible" on how to conquer all problems and disease.  We must thank him for what he will do for us in the future as well as the past.

The Old testament speaks about Gods will to heal.  Psalm 103:3  Who forgives all of your iniquities.  Who heals all of your diseases.

Healing words are also spoken in the new testament.  1 Peter 2:24 He personally bore our sins in His own body on the tree that we might die to sin and live to righteousness.  By his wounds you have been healed.

Notice that these versus contain words regarding salvation and healing.  Scripture does not separate out salvation and healing.  They are both included in the atonement.

Jesus is the Express Image of God.  Jesus the Son is God the Father.

We know that God wants us healed by what Jesus did.  Jesus only did what He saw His Father do.  John 5:19 Therefore Jesus was answering and was saying to them: "Most assuredly I say to you, the Son is not able to do anything by Himself except what He would see the Father doing:  for whatever the One would do, then the Son likewise does these things."

Jesus the Son is spoken as the express image of God the Father.  Hebrews 1:3 He is the radiance of the glory and express image of His nature, and carries everything by the power in His word. 

The Greek word that is translated to English "express image" speaks of an identical copy or a perfect representation.  Consequently Jesus is the perfect and identical copy of His Father.

Jesus spoke these commands to the disciples before he ascended to heaven.  Mark 16: 17-20  "These signs shall follow them that believe:  In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues:  They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them: they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."

What do you need to do to get healed?

2.  You must use your mouth and speak the word of God.  What you speak affects what you believe.  Life and death are in the power of the tongue Proverbs 18:21.  God uses your words.  If you are sick, start speaking faith filled words. Don't speak what the Doctor has said, or how you feel.  Speak what the word of God says about you and speak it in faith.

Powerful Scripture   Mark 11 23-24  Truly I say to you that whoever would say to this mountain, 'You must immediately be removed and you must immediately be cast into the sea,' and would not doubt in his heart but would believe that what he is saying is happening, it shall be to him.  Because of this I say to you, you must continually pray for everything, then for whatever you are asking, believe that you have taken it, and it will be there for you.

You must speak out your faith, not unbelief.  When you speak your faith, spiritual power is released.  Many doctors will give you the worst news to protect themselves from being too optimistic for liability reasons.  Don't speak the negative words a doctor tells you.  Speak about living and being healed.  You words will release Gods power over you.  Speak the word of God.

3.  Speak to the problem.  Jesus said to speak to the mountain in the above scripture, Mark 11 23-24.  If you have a pain in the back or leg, tell the pain to go away.  "Pain in my leg, in Jesus' name I command you to leave"  You don't need to ask God to please take away the pain in you leg.  He told us to speak to our problem, not to speak to Him about our problem.

4. Mathew 6:33 But you must continually seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, then all these things will be provided for you.

Word sentences to command your body to be healed.

"Disease you are dead.  I command you out of my body in the name of Jesus. Disease you are leaving my body now."   You can substitute the word disease with the exact sickness you are dealing with.  Cancer, diabetes, back ache, blindness etc...

"Pain in my head, in Jesus' name I command you to leave."

"Father, I believe that by Your stripes (1Peter 2:24) I was healed.  I believe my healing in the name of Jesus."

As a final note, it is important to not only speak to the problem, but to believe in Faith that you will be healed.  Mathew 17:20 Jesus is speaking here..... "Because of your little faith: for truly I am saying to you , if you would have faith like a mustard seed you will say to this mountain, 'You must immediately go from this place to that place.' and it will go : then nothing will be impossible for you."

Hebrews 4:1 ........ because those who heard did not mix it with faith.

Does God heal everyone? 

The answer to all of Gods prayers is Yes and Amen.  2 Corinthians 1: 18 - 20

If you have not seen visible signs of healing manifested, there could be spiritual issues going on we cannot see.  God is in spirit form as well is the devil and demons.  Remember the devils role is to steal, kill and destroy.  Most of us cannot see into the spirit realm. 

There could be issues with unbelief.  Jesus did not heal those that had unbelief.  Scriptures say that we must believe in order to receive.  If you notice, the word believe comes before receive. 

It could be the way we are praying.  Are we praying in faith or are we begging?   When we go into prayer, we must expect to be healed.  We are not telling God what to do, but doing what God has told us to do.  We need to pray in Faith.  Faith is believing something is going to happen before it does.  The Bible says "it is impossible to please God without Faith." Hebrews 11:6 NLT

Maybe those that have not seen any results are not being patient enough.  We live in a world where we want to put the order in on one side of the building and pick up the completed order in the other side.  God says be patient. 

Does God make you sick for his Glory?  Good question.  The result of healing is for God's glory, yes and Amen.  God does not make you sick so he can turn around and heal you to make himself look good.  God's word does say he will protect you from all disease.  Would you as a parent trip your child down the stairs so they will break their arm so you can teach them a lesson.  Then you turn around and say that you will take care of them no matter what happens.  I don't think you would do that and God will not harm his people for no reason.
